Washington DC

Six museums, five memorials, four miles of walking, three government buildings, two tours, and one monument.

Here's Clem last night at dinner. Too tired to eat.

Yep, I wore my family out hustling them through Washington DC. So much looking, so much walking. It's overwhelming, how much there is to see.

They ended up unwinding by becoming addicted to an absolutely mindless TV show in the hotel room called "Ninja Warrior".

I've so enjoyed your posts, it sounds like you are having a great time!! I can't wait to follow in your footsteps when my boys are a little older!

Patricia, it is so overwhelming. In 3 days we barely scratched the surface. We spent 5 hours in the Spy Museum, which is excellent, and barely scratched the surface there.

Gretchen, welcome! We are having a fabulous time. One thing we learned was do DC in September. Very few schools have trips in early-mid September. We hit loads and loads of end of the year trips in DC.

Gina, she was such a poor thing. I don't think I've ever seen Clem so tired.

Wildcoyote, welcome! And thank you. We have found great replacement batteries for the kids: ice cream at 2pm. If things are really dire we let them get coffee ice cream.

You trip is epic! They have experienced more this last month than most kids do in 12 years of schooling...Don't you love it when you tire them out like that? or do you feel bad? Keep it coming...
